After the supposed and premature arrival of winter, milder days are already on the horizon. So there is a good chance that a few autumnal hikes are still possible. The leaves are slowly changing color, the days are getting clearer again and the mountains are beckoning. For all those who would like to take a hike other than the usual one, the “hiking boss” Thomas Widmer from Tages-Anzeiger and Schweizer Familie recently recommended 7 dream routes for the fall.

Hiking author Thomas Widmer writes: “Discover a remote and dreamy little Jura lake. Look out over the fog from a fairly unknown Toggenburg vantage point. And treat yourself to the thrill of a vertical Felslfluh in the canton of Schwyz. Hiking author Thomas Widmer introduces you to seven undertakings throughout the country that have inspired him.” The special thing about it: the tours are not only presented in sections in words and pictures, but also in 3D illustrations that you can then follow.

All hikes also include a short description. For example, the author describes the tour “A rock face for cat people” as follows: “Oops, how do we get up there? That’s the question for anyone who climbs from Muotathal to the Sternen through vertical floods.” … and notes that the route takes 4.25 hours, is 9 km long, climbs 1270 meters and descends 70 meters.

The three remaining tours are called “Wo sie den Tête de Moine erfanden” (Jura), “Dies ist kein Dorf, dies ist ein Traum“ (Region Albula GR) and “Die heydenschu Wasserleyta“ (Oberwallis).
