This somewhat different travel guide to Switzerland combines familiar sights with new discoveries, urban locations with high alpine peaks that you wouldn’t necessarily expect to find side by side in one publication. The selection criteria for the 50 viewpoints and their views are based on architectural quality and public accessibility as well as a balanced consideration of the country’s regions and the era in which they were built.

They open up new perspectives and allow you to experience the traces of spatial planning, changing and intact landscapes, townscapes and architectural monuments in an impressive way. The collection does not claim to be exhaustive, but celebrates diversity and shows that the protection and preservation of our cultural heritage is important for a Switzerland worth living in. Informative texts and specially produced photographs present the viewpoints and their views and categorise them culturally and historically.
