Recently I came across a painting – or rather a painted poster in Zurich’s hipest Kreis 4. Advertising is part of our cityscape. But this painting seems to be more than simple advertising.

In its revised new edition of its publication “The most beautiful hotels in Switzerland”, the Schweizer Heimatschutz presents 89 special inns where a high level of architectural culture is cultivated and honest hospitality is lived. The starting point is always a high building culture, which is cultivated, maintained and sometimes creatively developed with care and love.

MAD architects commissioned to design a new panoramic viewpoint on top of the historic Fenix warehouse in Rotterdam. When the Fenix warehouse opened its doors on Katendrecht in 1923, it was the largest warehouse in the world. From these docks, millions of people left Europe for the New World. And from elsewhere set foot in Rotterdam.
