Especially in our latitudes and in many cities, architecture often serves as protection from the public. But those who build in the great outdoors tend to look for proximity to the open space and a building that is open to the beauty of the outside world.

Recently I came across a painting – or rather a painted poster in Zurich’s hipest Kreis 4. Advertising is part of our cityscape. But this painting seems to be more than simple advertising.

Since 1993, Hochparterre has been awarding annual prizes for the best buildings and objects in architecture, design and landscape architecture. This year again there are some interesting objects that can provide impulses for future buildings, facilities and designs.
